WTC Construction Update, April 2010

 1 WTC:

  • Steel and concrete installation and tower is up to the equivalent of the 24th floor and rising.
  • Superstructure steel now being installed
  • Both the south and north cores are now being erected as the structure rises
  • Final concrete installation on the sub-grade structure, including the surrounding plaza
  • Utility installation and tie-ins
  • Crews are coordinating substructure construction while maintaining PATH service

Memorial Museum:

  • Memorial steel fabrication is 100% complete; steel installation is fully framed
  • Fabrication underway for Memorial plaza stone, waterproofing, ornamental metals, and steel components  
  • Plaza construction is now underway; tree planting planned for 2010
  • Permanent stairways are being built

East Bathtub:

  • Excavation and substructure construction under the No. 1 train box and from H & M Terminal

 Tower 4:

  • Steel frame work for the lobby is 100%  complete
  • Concrete pour for the second deck in April 2010
  • Completion of core steel to the 5th floor in April 2010

Calatrava PATH Train:

  • The concrete pad is being prepared for the relocation of the 18,000 crane to be relocated to the Hub site from 1WTC in April 2010
  • Excavating beneath and installing steel below the 1 subway box
  • Future restored Fulton Street substructure and decking is underway inside WTC site, including concrete pours
  • East-west connector structural components are being installed
