On September 10, 2009, to kick off the first annual 9/11 National Day of Service and, the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, USO and MyGoodDeed.org will host Remembrance an afternoon of volunteering. Volunteers will work together to stuff 5,000 USO care packages that will be sent to our military forces. The event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street.  Read more...

Silverstein Properties today presented the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey with a “Notice of Arbitration” letter. The notice is in direct response to the Port Authority’s inability to meet its rebuilding obligations at the World Trade Center and the major financial and physical impacts of these failures on the Silverstein organization’s ability to rebuild.  Read more...

“The arbitration panel ruled that work must continue on World Trade Center sites 2 and 4 in order to complete the Port Authority’s site turnover obligations, and as a result the panel reinstated liquated damages effective to October 5. In anticipation of this ruling, the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties had already begun working cooperatively to resolve the outstanding issues that remain."  Read more...

Ulrich Schmid-Maybach, founder of the Wilhelm & Karl Maybach Foundation and Silverstein Properties President and CEO Larry Silverstein introduced today a new World Trade Center Documentary Arts Project and unveiled a visual update on construction activity at WTC site. As a result of the collaboration between the Wilhelm & Karl Maybach Foundation and Silverstein Properties Inc., gifted young photographers from adverse backgrounds have been granted unprecedented access to photograph construction activity at the WTC site. At a press conference at 7 World Trade Center, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum today provided a design briefing for the Memorial Museum Pavilion. The Museum Pavilion, designed by the Norwegian architecture firm, Snøhetta, and located between the two Memorial pools on the northeast quadrant of the Memorial Plaza, will be a graceful glass and steel structure that will serve as the primary entry into the Memorial Museum.  Read more...
