The States of New York and New Jersey, the City of New York, the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties announced today the outline of a development plan for the east side of the World Trade Center site. The plan calls for the immediate restoration of the east side of the WTC site to at least street level, the completion of Tower 4 by 2013 and the phase-in of Towers 2 and 3 over time. All other projects, including the 9/11 Memorial, One World Trade Center, the WTC Transportation Hub and other public infrastructure, will continue moving forward.  Read more...
On April 20, 2010, The Building Green Expo and Workshops returns to New York City and will take place at 7 World Trade Center. Building Green has added two new elements to this year's event: A Green Contest which is open to the public, and a children's educational component geared towards elementary students explaining what sustainability means and providing steps to help keep the world green.  Read more...
The World Trade Center arbitration panel ruled yesterday that, due to construction delays at the site and other issues, the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties must work together to create a new collaborative plan and schedule for the project and report back to the Panel in 45 days.  Read more...
The heart of New York City’s historic Downtown was attacked and destroyed on 9/11. While the economy has created challenges, we have an obligation to our city and to our nation to rebuild. And the Port Authority took $2.75 billion out of the insurance fund for rebuilding based on its commitments to make it possible for us to rebuild at the WTC. I agree with Mayor Bloomberg and Speaker Silver that the cause is too important to give up – we owe it to the world, to our country, our city, and our Downtown community to keep our promises to rebuild after the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our nation’s history.  Read more...
On September 10, 2009, to kick off the first annual 9/11 National Day of Service and, the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, USO and MyGoodDeed.org will host Remembrance an afternoon of volunteering. Volunteers will work together to stuff 5,000 USO care packages that will be sent to our military forces. The event will take place from 2pm to 4pm at 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street.  Read more...

Silverstein Properties today presented the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey with a “Notice of Arbitration” letter. The notice is in direct response to the Port Authority’s inability to meet its rebuilding obligations at the World Trade Center and the major financial and physical impacts of these failures on the Silverstein organization’s ability to rebuild.  Read more...

“The arbitration panel ruled that work must continue on World Trade Center sites 2 and 4 in order to complete the Port Authority’s site turnover obligations, and as a result the panel reinstated liquated damages effective to October 5. In anticipation of this ruling, the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties had already begun working cooperatively to resolve the outstanding issues that remain."  Read more...

Silverstein today announced that WestLB, a leading German financial institution, has signed a 15-year lease for approximately 129,000 square feet of office space on the top three floors of 7 World Trade Center.   Read more...
