9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Deputy Executive Director Bill Baroni today announced the arrival and planting of the first trees on the Memorial Plaza at the World Trade Center site. At least 12 of the nearly 400 trees planned for the Memorial are expected to be planted throughout the day, furthering the commitment that the Memorial will open for the 10th anniversary next year. Reflecting significant progress in the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site, Project Rebirth has produced “Rebirth Preview 2010” an update of the four minute piece that has been viewed by over 950,000 visitors at the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site in downtown Manhattan. Planned for public release in 2011, the Project Rebirth feature length documentary will chronicle the strength of the human spirit coping with disaster: the aftermath of September 11, 2001. “Rebirth Preview 2010” provides audiences an experience of the film, and a reflection of the spirit of the project, which honors 9/11 and the resilience of first responders and victims in the face of trauma and loss.

The States of New York and New Jersey, the City of New York, the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties announced today the outline of a development plan for the east side of the World Trade Center site. The plan calls for the immediate restoration of the east side of the WTC site to at least street level, the completion of Tower 4 by 2013 and the phase-in of Towers 2 and 3 over time. All other projects, including the 9/11 Memorial, One World Trade Center, the WTC Transportation Hub and other public infrastructure, will continue moving forward. Read more...

An "80-20" rental project, like its sister building, the 1,359-unit development is the city's largest rental complex currently in development and includes a mix of market rate apartments, corporate housing and moderate and low income units. Silverstein Properties today announced that ALM, a leading media company that publishes 33 national and regional magazines and newspapers, including The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel, The National Law Journal, and Real Estate Forum, has agreed to move its headquarters to 120 Broadway in Downtown Manhattan. ALM will occupy two floors totaling approximately 90,000 square feet. In addition, Dealogic, an investment banking technology company, has added another 12,000 square feet as part of a lease renewal that brings its total commitment in the landmark building to approximately 40,000 square feet. At approximately 140,000 square feet on floors 30-33, the ABN AMRO deal represents the second largest tenant deal to be signed for 7 WTC, and yet another in a growing number of major corporate moves to Downtown Manhattan. The columns were produced in Luxembourg and fabricated in Lynchburg, Virginia.
