WTC Overview - August 2011

Lower Manhattan saw a record-breaking nine million visitors to major museums, events and attractions in 2010 and is on track to surpass last year's total, according to the Downtown Alliance, the downtown Business Improvement District.

St. Paul's Chapel, Trinity Church, and Liberty and Ellis islands have been the most frequented attractions so far this year. Lower Manhattan will surpass previous visitation levels with the opening of the NationalSeptember 11 Memorial on September 12, 2011, which expects at least three to four million visitors in the first year of operation.

The 9/11 Memorial will be dedicated on September 11, 2011 in a special ceremony for victims' families. The Memorial opens to the public on September 12, 2011 with the reservation of a visitor pass. Click here to reserve your pass.
